Client Success Stories
Here are the most recent success stories. You can also see the complete list.
Iowa State University
Integrated solutions from CBORD help Iowa State University improve accuracy, efficiency, and service. Read on to learn how the university takes advantage of integrated solutions for food service, catering, online ordering, campus card operations, online ordering, and more.
Miami University of Ohio
A long-time CBORD customer in the food service arena, Miami University of Ohio recently improved security for its 16,000+ students with a full campus security implementation completed as a single project in a short timeframe. CBORD's CS Access™ was implemented to secure more than 4,200 interior and 325 exterior doors with the AD-Series electronic locks and Schlage® aptiQ™ contactless secure credentials from Ingersoll l Rand Security Technologies. The result proved to be one of the largest access control installations of its kind, with unique mobile features for door access and "master key" privilege elevation.
Singapore American School
Singapore American School (SAS) has long been considered a high-tech institution. Its modern and well-appointed campus, wireless Internet access, and technology-rich classrooms provide an educational experience designed with the next generation in mind. In spite of this, however, its cafeterias operated on an outdated coupon and cash system. The search for a one-card solution stemmed from parent requests for a more child-friendly approach to school lunch payment. SAS issued a request for proposals, ultimately selecting the CS Gold® one-card system from CBORD.
Mercy St. Charles Hospital
More and more healthcare organizations are leveraging their technology and sharing databases between facilities. This can be a very efficient way to manage data and operate systems, allowing multiple organizations to benefit. It usually starts with a "champion" who brings in new technology and makes it a success. The next step is to share the success among partners.

Odyssey PCS™ and Odyssey HMS™ handle the Illinois Institute of Technology's (IIT) housing accounts, facilities, meal plans, and activities, while CBORD's CS Access™ Link and the NiceVision surveillance system from NICE Systems help monitor security on campus.
As Iowa State University’s systems have grown, it has become apparent just how crucial CBORD’s integrated systems are: not having to integrate disparate systems from multiple vendors themselves has saved ISU money, time, and labor, and has helped to ensure accuracy.
Located in San Francisco, CA, Laguna Honda Hospital serves a diverse population. While it can be challenging to serve people from multiple cultures out of one large central kitchen, Foodservice Suite® and Nutrition Service Suite® make the challenge more manageable. The hospital is also committed to its sustainable food movement; CBORD software allows Laguna Honda Hospital to know what percentage of food is sustainable and organic.
Sharon Solomon and Graham Gulian of NY Presbyterian Hospital took the initiative to identify areas where their organization was not using CBORD's products to their full potential. For a multi-site organization that serves approximately 1.6 million meals per year, increasing automation, improving operations, and reducing inefficiencies are crucial. NY Presbyterian Hospital is well on its way to achieving those goals.
SESIAHS uses CBORD's Foodservice Suite and Nutrition Service Suite to mange a very large operation in Australia.
The program at St Vincents and Mater Health operates real-time with up-to-the-second diet order information. As the order is entered, the nutrition assistants can see if something does not comply with the patient's diet, and they can view a list of alternate choices. Armed with this information, they can educate the patient and negotiate a compliant alternative.

The St. Jude team is a pioneer in developing a hybrid room service process. Using CBORD Room Service on tablets, they developed a process that has increased patient satisfaction and helped streamline ordering and inventory. Additionally, the St. Jude team has implemented an extremely successful payroll deduction program, resulting in 85 percent of employees using the system.
Rosie Niz displays expertise in managing an enterprise system and keeping six hospital networks running smoothly, resulting in improved efficiencies and lower costs for the Sacramento Sierra Region. Rosie has learned how to query the CBORD database and create reports for management. One especially useful report she created compares meal costs between the six hospitals. Rosie’s expertise with the CBORD system has helped to support operational improvements across the board.
Texas Health management has installed interfaces that maximize efficiencies, including an accounts payable interface that allows invoices to be paid quickly, thereby maximizing possible GPO discounts.
The Ohio State University received the CBORD’s 2009 Visionary Award for its use of Foodservice Suite® to improve efficiency and cost control through intelligent forecasting, central ordering, and online services like Webfood®, NetNutrition®, and NetCatering®.
CU is recognized for its foresight in auxiliary technology planning. The university uses CBORD solutions across campus and beyond, and enjoys the benefits of integration.
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is a power user of cashless systems, FSS, and NSS. Their operation includes vending.
Expertise in campus card and access control management—including an extensive implementation of wired, wireless, and offline readers—is recognized at the University of San Francisco. Jason Rossi, the school’s Director of One Card and Campus Security Systems, received CBORD’s 2009 Above and Beyond Award for sharing his knowledge with fellow users.
Villanova University is recognized for its use of CS Gold online functionality to handle laundry reservations and athletic ticket lotteries.
