Westridge School for Girls purchases Foodservice Suite

For Immediate Release

February 2, 2007

Westridge School for Girls purchases Foodservice Suite Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Westridge School for Girls has recently purchased Foodservice Suite® to automate its menu planning and production processes.

Founded in 1913, Westridge School for Girls enrolls approximately 502 students and 100 faculty/staff members. Until recently, the school's foodservice was contracted to nearby California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech), another CBORD user. When Frances Yokota, a former senior manager at Cal Tech, became Foodservice Director at Westridge, she looked to CBORD® right away to increase efficiency in the newly self-operated department.

"We looked around at a few different companies, but it just felt natural to go back to CBORD," says Frances Yokota, Foodservice Director at Westridge School for Girls. "I became so familiar with the system while working at Cal Tech that I knew it would make my life much simpler here at Westridge."

Westridge purchased the Menu Management and Inventory Management modules of Foodservice Suite, and plans to look into CBORD's NetNutrition® offering in the future.

"Food costing, recipe yields, and forecasting are probably the biggest advantages from my point-of-view," says Yokota. "The system organizes everything so nicely. Our students have a wide range of palates—some are happy with chicken tenders and fries, while others are more adventurous and want to try more sophisticated foods—and Foodservice Suite gives us the flexibility to use many different recipes."

Yokota also values the relationships she has formed with CBORD employees over the years. "My CBORD Project Manager is wonderful—always taking the initiative in helping us improve our foodservice operations. When he comes to visit, he sits next to me and watches me use the system, asks what I'm doing, and then suggests new and better ways to accomplish what I am working toward. He's always on top of things."

"We are very excited to welcome Westridge School for Girls to the CBORD fold," says Peg Lacey, National Market Manager, Colleges & Universities, The CBORD Group, Inc. "When experienced users like Frances bring our systems with them onto new campuses, it validates what we are providing to our customers—a full-featured, scalable foodservice system that easily conforms to the needs of any campus, large or small."
