CBORD in the News: Ole Miss Moving to GET

OLE Miss

Students at University of Mississippi have a new online portal to manage their Ole Miss One Cards now that the university has transitioned to GETTM from CBORD®. The move leaves behind the web portal students had been using since 2008.

Students or parents will now load money to an account’s Flex and Express dollars using GET as the new access portal for students to manage their One Card. In addition to account management, students can also use GET to search for places to eat, view recent account activity and report lost or stolen cards.

According to a report by The Daily Mississippian1, a smooth transition was key to maintaining student satisfaction, and it worked. Freshman Elizabeth Lovett said she feels GET works a lot better than the old system. “GET has a cleaner look. It’s easier to use, and there are a lot more features on it,” Lovett said.

Student Hannah Brady agrees. “My parents are the ones who usually deposit money into my Flex and Express, but even they have said the new website works a lot better and are glad it has been updated,” she said. GET’s request funds function enables students to request money to be placed on select Flex dollars or Express account, bringing the time-honored tradition of students calling home for money into the digital age.

Using the old system, students had to create an account to log in. With GET, students use their Web ID and password, the same information used to log in to their myOleMiss, IMLeagues, and other school websites. This convenient integration helped to make the transition to GET easy.

Ole Miss will introduce additional GET features over time as the campus adjusts to the new system. “One that we will be testing in the fall at some of our on-campus food locations is a food ordering app,” Kathy Tidwell, contractual services Manager told the Daily Mississippian.
