Survey Reveals Technologies Healthcare Professionals Seek

In our last Healthcare eNewsletter, we offered a short survey about how CBORD users get new ideas about foodservice and nutrition technology. While the results may not be surprising, they do reveal some of the advancements healthcare professionals see in the future of foodservice technology.

Technologies Anticipated
When we asked, "What technologies in healthcare foodservice are you watching or waiting for?" we received a few very exciting responses:

Whole hospital computer software. Complete integration of all hospital functions that work seamlessly together.

An app that hospital employees can order food from the Café with.

Patients to order Room Service with their phone!

These are actually some of the things we've been working on, as CBORD President Jim Hoefflin previewed at UGC last October. Developing the CBORD Platform gives us a patron-focused building block for a new generation of CBORD apps, connecting the products in our comprehensive portfolio of solutions for campus communities in healthcare, senior living, and education.

The first app available on our new patron-centric CBORD platform is CBORD® PatientTM, a mobile meal-ordering solution designed to improve the patient experience and reduce calls to the call center, coming soon. Meals ordered through the app will follow the diet safety protocols the hospital has already established. Future enhancements will enable employee and guest meal ordering with separate payment and delivery options.
